From Mrs Kilpatrick:

"The time has come!! Results will be available in upstairs B block (the Sixth Form study centre) from 10am until 1pm tomorrow. Don't forget to complete your Sixth Form registration form and give it to Mrs King before you leave. Some of you will need to talk to Dr Talbot, or to me, before you will be able to submit a registration form - so if you think there may be a problem, seek us out. We will be interviewing in the office and meeting room upstairs all morning.
I attach the registration form so you can check your choices for clashes prior to tomorrow.... hard copies will be available in school. Don't forget to ask for one when you pick up your results.

Year 11 results will be available to collect from 10 am on Tuesday 24 August from the study centre above the library.

Sadly the yearbooks are still not available, but we will email students and post information on this website when they can be collected from reception.

Congratulations to all students for the excellent results they have gained.

New Workshops coming soon...

Sudbury and Great Cornard Young FIlm Makers are hosting two 'Brand New' workshops over the Summer.

The first workshop is a unique 'Live Television' experience. Over the course of the 3 day workshop you will learn all the techniques and job roles involved in live television. You will have an active part in a number of small Live productions as Cast and Crew, before producing a 10 minute, COMPLETELY LIVE production that will be burnt straight to DVD... so you'd better get Rehearsing!

The Second workshop is all about Sound! You will be set the task of producing ALL the audio to a number of well known film/television scenes. For example, recording all the market noises and voices for an Eastenders scene, and doing all the ADR and Voiceover for characters such as Phill Mitchell and Darth Vader! With this you will learn all the aspects of how sound is used in Film and Television production and how by changing the sound you can change the whole mood or style of a scene! As an end result, it will be up to you to produce and direct your very own 'Story through Sound' production!

The Workshops are set to take place at Wells Hall Old School on these dates:

Live Television Production - 5th 6th and 9th August
Story through Sound - 10th 11th and 13th August

All workshops are COMPLETELY FREE!

Summer Showcase & BBQ, Weds 30 June, 5 to 8 pm

All parents are warmly invited to our first Summer Showcase, including exhibitions of GCSE, AS and A Level art & photography work and performances by music & dance students.

There will also be a barbeque and bar, as well as a chance to view the new school allotment and see the ideas we have for the school quad area.

BBQ, music, art, photography & dance
from 5 pm until 8 pm, Wednesday 30 June

This is a great opportunity to view the school, student's work and meet other parents and teachers in an informal and relaxed setting.

This event is organised by the GCUS Association, staff & students (big thank you!) and is part of our efforts to raise money to improve the outdoor quad area in school, to provide covered eating areas and a new performance space.
