A message from Ben Stiff - Skating the length of the UK - THIS SUMMER!
by Mrs S Crawte - Thursday, May 8 2008, 05:46 PM

Hey guys,

As you may know, I’m skating the length of the UK this summer to raise money for a charity to help stroke victims.

Coming into school soon will be sponsor sheets for your beautiful selves to fill in if you would like to sponsor me, there is also the website if you have a credit/debit card. The sheets will be put up in CU latte on the posty thing near the counter, and in dining room 2 where the vending machines used to be.
I will need your contact details on there, which will include your phone number. If you're not cool with putting your number up for everyone to see you can email me it and I'll keep it strictly confidential for the trip and will delete them all after (I promise)! Just put on the sponsor sheet that you've mailed me your number and it’ll be all groovy.

Also, if you fancy giving your parent(s) a copy of the sheet to put up in a place of work, all you need to do is ask me for one, I’ll put you on a super special list of people with their own list, and after a couple of weeks I’ll just ask you to round up the cash and give it to me, simple! You can also put it up in your own place of work, I’m sure one of you guys works in Tesco’s or Waitrose, and they love a bit of charity!

Attached is a copy of the poster I'm sending out with the special sheets, this is to be set up right next to the sponsor sheet so people know what all the fuss is about. I'd print a load off myself but my lovely printer decided to be a cool kid on me and isn’t working......charming.

Right I’ve dribbled on for long enough now, hope you all had a cracking summer and if you want to ask me for a sheet please do, I don’t bite!

Football, Year 10 Boys vs Stowmarket, 27 Feb 2008
by Mr C Ryall - Friday, February 29 2008, 09:09 AM

On the 27th February, Stowmarket travelled to Cornard to face our school team. With good tackles and a good team spirit from the word go and everyone a positive mind it was pure bad luck the first goal went in.

With everyone staying strong and the defence keeping the Stowmarket attackers back, we kept the score 1-0 at half time.

Mr Steed gave an inspirational team talk to the boys getting there minds back into gear at half time.

With Jordan Melia’s shot hitting the crossbar two minutes into the second half and plenty more good shots it was unlucky we didn’t pull the score to a draw. Another goal slipping in to our net due to poor defence from a corner, changing the score to 2-0.

With three fouls all with in 5 metres of the box, gave us three good chances of a goal. Unfortunately Stowmarket’s goalkeeper made three good saves and there defence got the ball out of the box.

Fred Howe making a good one on one challenge at the end of the match kept the score 2-0.

Overall an entertaining match of football and a good team effort just the two goals where unlucky.

Players: Fred Howe (C), Dan Newman, Shane Wanmer, Antony Waugh, William Kennedy/Jack Backler, Scott Lewis, Lee Roach, Jordan Melia, Luke Wilding, Hunter Wallis, Tom Eady.

Coach: Jordan Platt
Referee: Mr Steed
Report: Sam Gammage
